Defending pool champions, University Teaching Hospital (UTH) started the 2009 league season campaign on a shaky note after being held to a 5 - 5 draw against Mumana. UTH also failed to scoop the season opening tournament crown after falling out at the semi-final stage with a 0 - 3 loss to eventual champions Castle Embassy last weekend.

Meanwhile, newly promoted team High flyers started on a high note beating Bakili bullets 6 - 4. Other promoted sides failed to make a similar impression as Boajib sunk 4 - 6 to Better days. Vunguma lost 3-7 to Sharks while the Don registered a 4-6 loss to More Pool.

Other results

  • Wingos 3 - Snookers 7
  • Castle Embassy 7 - Buffaloes 3
  • Boree 6 - Ministers Den 4
  • Pork Masters 4 - Patkins 6
